LAKES AT DARLINGTON NOW OPEN DAILY FOR SWIMMING AHEAD OF HEAT WAVE
Starting today, June 19th, the Lakes at Darlington, including the Splash Zone, will be open DAILY for swimming
Hackensack, NJ — County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of Commissioners, and the Bergen County Parks Department is pleased to announce that the Lakes of Darlington will be open for swimming on Thursday, June 19th, and Friday, June 20th, ahead of the regular weekday schedule. This early opening is in response to ideal weather conditions and the anticipated summer heat wave.
Typically operating on weekends only until the full summer schedule begins on June 23rd, this move allows residents and visitors a refreshing head start to enjoy one of Bergen County’s most beloved natural spots.
“We’re thrilled to open the Lakes of Darlington early and give our residents a chance to cool off in these beautiful waters,” said County Executive James J. Tedesco III. “With a heat wave on the horizon, this is the perfect opportunity for families and individuals to make the most of our parks and enjoy some well-deserved fun in the sun.”
“Darlington Lake is truly a special destination within the Bergen County Parks System,” said Bergen County Commissioner Steve Tanelli. “We’re proud to offer families a fun, active, and refreshing way to enjoy the summer. Our continued investment in our parks reflects our commitment to providing high-quality recreational spaces for all residents to enjoy.”
Visitors can unwind on the sandy beach, challenge themselves with laps in designated swim lanes, or explore the Splash Zone, our inflatable obstacle course featuring water slides, sprinklers, and a special Kiddie Splash Zone for kids to enjoy.
