Bergen County OEM is monitoring a storm system that will affect our area this afternoon through Wednesday morning. Doppler radar is indicating thunderstorms producing heavy rain will begin to impact Bergen County over the next few hours. These storms are likely to produce brief but severe wind gusts, torrential downpours producing 1 to 3 inches of rain with localized areas possibly seeing 4 to 6 inches of rain. The most severe storms are predicted to impact Bergen County in the 6pm to 8pm timeframe. Light rain and spotty thunderstorms are likely through the overnight hours into Wednesday before this system is completely out of our area.
