Multiple pools of mosquitoes across Bergen County have tested positive for West Nile Virus. While no human cases have been reported, the County’s “Bergen Bites Back” initiative is in full effect to mitigate further risk through surveillance, larval control, and public education. This media availability will offer an inside look at how the County tracks and responds to mosquito-borne illness, including mosquito surveillance techniques, treatment protocols, and emerging health risks.

Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Board of County Commissioners today announced that Moody’s Ratings has assigned its highest short-term credit rating, MIG 1, to the Bergen County Improvement Authority’s $27.6 million County Guaranteed Lease Revenue Notes, Series 2026, which will finance construction of a new building on the campus of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.
