Revolutionary War Roundtable: The Battle of Springfield, 1780 Presented by Bob Gula

The Battle of Springfield in 1780 was the last major fighting of the American Revolution in the Northeast US.  The Continental Army and local NJ Militia successfully repelled British forces looking to capture George Washington and his army in Morristown. Presenter Bob Gula gives the talk as his fifth great-grandfather, Jehiel Day, a Private in the Morris County Militia – Eastern Battalion, who fought at the Battle of Springfield.

Bob Gula is a New Jersey native who has been long associated with the Sons of the American Revolution, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, the Mayflower Society of New Jersey, and the Forgotten Victory Trail Association, where he has initiated educational programming geared towards both adults and elementary aged students. Mr. Gula has seven direct ancestors who served in the American Revolution.
