County Executive Jim Tedesco available to speak with media regarding storm response

PARAMUS, NJ – The County of Bergen’s Office of Emergency Management and Snow Operations in the Department of Public Works continue to monitor the winter storm expected to impact Northern New Jersey from Sunday morning through Monday, with County departments mobilizing personnel, equipment, and resources to plow county roads, parks, and facilities.

Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco will be available tomorrow, Sunday, January 25at the Bergen County Department of Public Works Annex to provide updates on Bergen County’s storm response.

Bergen County maintains a fleet of more than 100 trucks equipped for salting and plowing, responsible for maintaining over 120 miles of County roadways as well as County parks and facilities. During snow events, the County typically deploys between 100 and 150 employees operating a 24-hour, in-house response supported by staff from the Departments of Public Works, Parks, and Public Safety. Depending on storm conditions, crews may operate on 12-hour shifts.

County officials will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and adjust operations as needed to respond to changing conditions. For continued updates, follow Bergen County, NJ, County Executive Jim Tedesco, and Bergen County OEM on social media.
