Stock Clerk Division of Senior Services, Department of Human Services

Organizational Overview:

The Bergen County Division of Senior Services is the primary agency in Bergen County that plans and coordinates services for County residents age 60 and above, and their caregivers. The Division and its various committees advocate for those with the greatest economic and social needs.  The Division also provides support to various community-based organizations that promote the well-being and independence of Bergen County’s 220,000 older adults.

Job Description:

This employment opportunity is to serve as a Stock Clerk. Under general supervision, receives, unloads, stores, issues, ships, and records parts, equipment, materials, and supplies of varied types; does other related duties as required.

Job Responsibilities:   

  • May unload incoming shipments from trucks and freight cars.
  • Checks incoming shipments for conformity with orders and specifications; unpacks sizes, and labels stock.
  • Sees that stock bins are kept supplied according to size, color, or other description and that stock is kept in the proper place.
  • Maintains stock in bins and on racks in an orderly and safe condition.
  • When requisitions are received, checks supplies and issues stock as indicated on the requisitions.
  • Assembles, packs, and sees that requisitioned supplies are ready for shipment at the designated time.
  • Helps maintain a set of stock record cards.
  • Takes periodic inventories.
  • Help keep the storeroom areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units.

Schedule: Full time (40 hours/week) Monday through Friday

Education Requirements: High School Diploma

Other Requirements: 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, Outlook and Excel programs.
  • Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey to perform essential duties of the position.

Salary: $42,000 / per annum
