
Fiscal Analyst – Department of Human Services – Division of Family Guidance
Organizational Overview:
The Bergen County Division of Family Guidance provides clinical, residential, educational, correctional, case management, and monitoring services to at-risk children, adolescents, and families, particularly those who are otherwise unable to receive needed services. It is Bergen County’s resource for youth and families in need.
Job Description:
This employment opportunity will be to serve as the Fiscal Analyst. Under direction, serves as a consultant to a program administrator on fiscal problems and is responsible for analyzing expenditures of programs to ascertain that contractual commitments or legal requirements governing them are being carried out properly; does related work as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists in preparation of program budgets
- Assists and advises program administrator(s) on fiscal problems that may arise in carrying out provisions of various funding contracts and in preparing required financial reports.
- Reviews funding contracts and grants to determine various ways of dispersing funds within the stipulated guidelines
- Prepare grant budgets and supporting documentation for new applications.
- Complete budget modifications and submit item changes for existing grants.
- Ensure compliance with grant conditions and reporting deadlines.
- Prepares monthly financial reports and statements on the review of various programs.
- Audits program financial records to ascertain whether or not proper use has been made of expended funds and ensures they are ready for review by the funding agency.
- Supervises the maintenance of pertinent financial records.
- Serve as a liaison with auditors, grant agencies, and internal stakeholders.
Schedule: Full time (40 hours/week).
Education Requirements:
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field;
or
- Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
Other Requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or grant administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, Outlook and Excel programs.
- Experience with government finance systems is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

Salary: $65,000 / per annum
