BERGEN COUNTY & COMMUNITY FOOD BANK OF NJ TEAM UP TO DISTRIBUTE FRESH PRODUCE FOR THANKGIVING
On Monday, November 18th the Bergen County Office of Food Security, in partnership with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, distributed 90,000lbs of fresh produce to 40 food pantries from across Bergen County to support their Thanksgiving food distributions. The participating pantries received boxes of mixed produce than included potatoes, yams, lettuces, onions, apples and other items that help provide healthy side dishes on the Thanksgiving tables of thousands of families in Bergen County this year.

Members of the media are invited to Overpeck County Park on Monday, November 18th at 9:45 a.m. for the County’s Office of Food Security fresh produce distribution in partnership the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Over 90,000 pounds are expected to be sorted and distributed to 40 food pantries in Bergen County. Produce boxes will include staples such as potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, apples and plums, and will be vital supplements to the already depleted food pantries leading up to the holiday.

“I am deeply disappointed by New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s decision to resume congestion pricing. Her temporary postponement in June was nothing more than a political maneuver, and bringing it back now shows the same disregard for the impact on the greater New York metropolitan area. This revised $9 tax is STILL a shameless money grab by the MTA to patch up years of financial mismanagement—at the expense of New York City’s neighbors.
FREE GOLF FOR BERGEN COUNTY VETERANS AND SERVICE MEMBERS
Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of Commissioners, the Bergen County Parks Department, and the County’s Division of Veterans Services are proud to announce that Bergen County veterans and active duty can enjoy a free round of golf in honor of Veterans Day at any of Bergen County’s six public golf courses from Monday, November 11th to Friday, November 15th.
