Italian American Heritage Month was first proclaimed by the President and Congress in 1989 and is celebrated each year in the month of October to celebrate and honor the immeasurable contributions, achievements, and successes of Italians and Italian Americans throughout the United States.

The Office of LGBTQ+ Services will create a safe and welcoming environment for individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, while working to ensure visibility and acceptance within the Bergen County community. The Office will promote awareness, education, and training to effect systemic change that guarantees safe and equitable services, and by creating inclusive and supportive environments for all LGBTQ+ residents.

Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco, III and the Bergen County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with the Bergen County Department of Human Services, are pleased to announce the 21st Annual Multicultural Fun Fest to be held on Saturday, October 14th at the Saddle River County Park, Wild Duck Pond, in Ridgewood, NJ from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

County Executive James J. Tedesco, III, the County Board of Commissioners, and the Bergen County Department of Human Services announce that the County’s Division of Senior Service/ADRC’s Annual Fall Caregivers Conference will take place on Saturday, Saturday, October 14, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the County Administration Building in the 5th floor Commissioners’ Meeting Room, One Bergen County Plaza, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Admission to the conference is free but advanced registration is encouraged.
