MONTVALE, NJ — Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco, III joined officials from the Borough of Montvale to celebrate the Borough’s launch on the Bergen County Fiber Network, marking the latest community to come online with the County’s high-speed, publicly owned broadband system.

With Montvale’s activation, even more municipal buildings, public safety operations, and community facilities are now connected to a secure, resilient, and cost-saving fiber-optic network designed to support modern government services.

The Bergen Fiber initiative was created to give municipalities access to scalable bandwidth, enhanced cybersecurity protections, and seamless communication with local and County agencies. This will improve everything for the Borough from emergency response coordination to day-to-day administrative functions.

“Expanding Bergen Fiber into more communities strengthens the online foundation of our entire County,” said County Executive Tedesco. “By partnering with Montvale, we’re ensuring local governments have the tools they need to operate efficiently, securely, and cost-effectively for years to come.”

Montvale officials highlighted how joining the network will directly benefit local operations and taxpayers.

“This partnership with Bergen County positions Montvale borough hall for the future,” said Mayor Mike Ghassali. “Reliable, high-speed connectivity is essential to delivering the level of service our residents expect. Bergen Fiber gives us a smarter, more efficient, and more secure way to run our operations.”

The Bergen County Board of Commissioners continues to champion the system’s expansion as a key component of the County’s long-term infrastructure strategy.

“Bergen Fiber is smart government in action,” said Commissioner Thomas Sullivan. “Each town that comes online strengthens countywide communication and ensures better value for our taxpayers. We are proud to see Montvale take this step.”

The Bergen Fiber Network now spans dozens of municipal and County facilities, with additional communities set to join.
