HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ – Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco, III announced that the Borough of Hasbrouck Heights is now officially connected to Bergen County Fiber, the County’s high-speed, countywide broadband network.

Through a recently approved shared services agreement with Bergen County, Hasbrouck Heights Borough Hall has begun utilizing the County-owned fiber-optic network, with the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library expected to transition to the service soon as well.

Hasbrouck Heights joins a growing number of Bergen County municipalities taking advantage of the publicly owned network, which provides faster, more reliable connectivity to local governments, libraries, schools, and other public facilities while helping reduce long-term telecommunications costs for taxpayers.

“Every time another town connects to Bergen Fiber, we are building a stronger and more connected Bergen County,” said County Executive James J. Tedesco, III. “By sharing this infrastructure with our municipalities, we can provide better reliability and security while helping towns control costs. I’m proud to welcome Hasbrouck Heights to the network and look forward to continuing its expansion across Bergen County.”

Bergen Fiber was launched as a shared services initiative to modernize government operations, strengthen cybersecurity, and improve coordination between municipalities and County agencies. The network provides scalable bandwidth, secure data transport, and improved connectivity to support municipal administration, public safety, and other essential government services.

“Joining Bergen Fiber is a great example of how shared services can directly benefit our community,” said Hasbrouck Heights Mayor Ron Kistner. “I want to thank County Executive Tedesco for his leadership, friendship, and for continuing to find ways for the County and our municipalities to work together. This partnership gives Hasbrouck Heights more reliable infrastructure while helping us control costs and deliver better service to our residents.”

The Bergen County Board of Commissioners has supported the continued expansion of Bergen Fiber as part of the County’s broader effort to use shared services to improve efficiency and reduce costs for local governments.

“Bergen Fiber shows what we can accomplish when the County and our municipalities work together,” said Bergen County Commissioner Tom Sullivan. “Hasbrouck Heights coming online is another important step in expanding a network that provides our communities with reliable, secure infrastructure while delivering greater value for taxpayers.”

The Bergen Fiber Network currently connects dozens of County and municipal facilities across Bergen County, including borough halls, libraries, and utilities authorities, and continues to expand as additional municipalities enter into shared services agreements with the County.
