BERGEN COUNTY MOBILIZES EMERGENCY FOOD EFFORTS AMID FEDERAL SHUTDOWN & SNAP DISRUPTION
Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, nearly 42,000 residents in Bergen County who rely on SNAP benefits will not receive them on time in November. In response, the Bergen County Office of Food Security is working closely with municipal and nonprofit partners to organize emergency food drives to support local food pantries in towns across the county.
BERGEN FIBER NETWORK GOES LIVE IN HILLSDALE
Standing inside the Council Chambers at Hillsdale Borough Hall, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and County Commissioners Mary Amoroso and Germaine Ortiz joined Mayor Michael Sheinfield to mark the Borough’s official connection to the Bergen Fiber Network—a high-speed, county-owned broadband system providing municipalities with faster, more secure internet service while cutting costs for taxpayers.
FREE GOLF FOR BERGEN VETERANS & SERVICE MEMBERS IN HONOR OF VETERANS DAY
Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of County Commissioners, the County Parks Department, and the County’s Division of Veteran Services announce that all Bergen County veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy a free round of golf at any of the County’s six golf courses from Monday, November 10th to Friday, November 14th.
