Communicable Disease Control & Prevention
The Communicable Disease Control & Prevention Program works with the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) hospitals, laboratories, and other public health partners to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases in the municipalities served by the Bergen County Department of Health Services.
Reportable Disease Program (N.J.A.C. 8:57-1)
- Conduct investigations for reportable communicable diseases
- Conduct surveillance and response for disease outbreaks
- Report communicable disease outbreaks to NJDOH
- Educate long term care facilities and schools about communicable disease reporting
